He wasn't terrible. That's the thing. Terrible would've been easier.

Terrible you leave. Terrible you cry about for a week, delete the photos, block the number, and eventually turn into a funny story at brunch. Terrible has an ending.

But average? Average keeps you second-guessing yourself for years. Average makes you feel crazy for wanting more. Average shows up just enough to keep you hoping, does just enough to avoid the conversation, and somehow makes YOU feel like the unreasonable one for not being satisfied with fine.

You deserved more than fine, babe. You always did.

Slap that baby in your warmer since you can't slap the man. And remember... mediocrity is not your ceiling.
